Job Title: Behavior Technician (RBT)
Reports To: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Job Summary:
The Behavior Technician (Registered Behavior Technician - RBT) is responsible for providing direct, one-on-one Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to clients, typically children, with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other developmental disabilities. The RBT implements individualized treatment plans developed and supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This role is crucial in helping clients develop essential skills, reduce challenging behaviors, and improve their overall quality of life. All services are provided in accordance with best practices and are often covered by insurance.
Essential Functions:
•	Provide direct ABA therapy to clients in their homes, and communities  as specified in the treatment plan.
•	Implement individualized treatment plans and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) as developed by the BCBA.
•	Collect and record accurate and reliable data on client progress using approved data collection methods (e.g., ABC data, frequency recording, duration recording).
•	Assist in the assessment of client needs and preferences.
•	Implement behavior reduction procedures to decrease challenging behaviors, following the BIP and under the supervision of the BCBA.
•	Teach clients new skills, including communication, social, self-help, and adaptive living skills, using ABA techniques such as discrete trial training (DTT), natural environment teaching (NET), and task analysis.
•	Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, progress notes, and data sheets.
•	Communicate effectively with clients, families, caregivers, and other members of the treatment team, under the direction of the BCBA.
•	Participate in regular supervision meetings with the BCBA to review client progress, receive feedback, and address any concerns.
•	Follow all ethical guidelines and maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
•	Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
•	Complete all required training and maintain RBT certification.
•	Ensure a safe and positive learning environment for clients.
•	Assist the BCBA with parent training and education, as needed.
•	Travel to and from client locations as required.
Qualifications:
•	Education:
o	High school diploma or equivalent required.
o	Some college coursework in psychology, education, or a related field preferred.
•	Certification:
o	Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification required.
o	If not already certified, must be willing to obtain RBT certification within a specified timeframe (e.g., 45-90 days) of hire.
•	Experience: * Experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other developmental disabilities preferred. * Experience implementing ABA therapy techniques is highly desirable.
•	Other Requirements:
o	Valid driver's license and reliable transportation with proof of auto insurance may be required.
o	Successful completion of a background check.
o	Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
o	Ability to follow instructions and work independently as well as part of a team.
o	Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and appearance.
o	Physical ability to engage in activities with clients, including sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting (may be required to lift up to 50 pounds).
o	Must be able to collect accurate data.
o	The ability to use electronic data collection tools and software is required.
Preferred Skills:
•	Knowledge of ABA principles and techniques.
•	Experience with specific data collection software or electronic health record (EHR) systems.
•	Bilingual language skills.
